Wine on the Water


To round out this weeks haute spot entries, I give to you The Treasure Island Wine Fest. Experience the splendor of Treasure Island while sipping on wine from Lodi, tickling your palette with appetizers, dancing to live music, or perhaps taking in a wine seminar. Crustacean Sensation




Here is one for the seafood lovers. Spengers fish Grotto is holding its 9th annual Crabby Chefs Seafood festival. There will be dozens of booths selling crab, crab cakes, clam chowder, and other seafood specialties, along with beer, wine, and soft drinks. The Crabby event kicks off at 11AM and ends at 4Pm on Sunday October 11 in Berkeley. Oaktoberfest




As I mentioned before festival season is wrapping up, so take advantage of the upcoming festivities while soaking up some rays. I'm here to deliver info on this weekends events so you can prepare for a fun-filled Saturday, Sunday, or why not both days. In the Dimond District of Oakland on Saturday October 10, 2009 from 11AM-PM the Oaktoberfest will be taking place. This festival continues a tradition that began in the early 1900's when Beer Gardens and German vacation resorts lined the boulevard. Union Design Festival



We Californians are fortunate enough to have lovely weather throughout the month of October, so make the most of these warm days and attend the last few festivals of the year. Festival for All


This festival truly is "The Spice of Life", contributing something for everyone. On Sunday October 4, 2009, in the "Gourmet Ghetto" area of Berkeley you will encounter food and fun. Taste of Fillmore


Saturday October 3, 2009 from noon-5PM is the 1st annual Taste of Fillmore. Those familiar with this area of San Francisco know that this neighborhood is filled with rich culture and newfound eateries. Haute Family Fun


The first annual "A taste of Downtown San Rafael" is happening Wednesday September 23rd from 5p-8p. The tasting takes place throughout the downtown area and will include restaurants and merchants offering hor'devours, and wine samples. The event is free to the public, but to sample the treats you will need to purchase a wristband. There will also be a free cable car shuttle making designated stops to pick up and drop off attendees. Weekend Decadence

Get Real!




Visit the Eat Real Festival August 28-30, 2009 in Jack London Square in Oakland. This festival features "street food", some of the Bay's best taco trucks, fresh fruits & veggies, ice cream sold from the back of a bicycle, local handcrafted beers, and sidewalk cinema on Friday and Saturday nights. Entrance to the event is free, the street eats are at the recession friendly prices of between $1-$5, and the price for the beer shed is $20. $20 will get you eight generous tastings and a souvenir glass. Free Concert Series




Stern Grove kicks off its historic concert series this Sunday June 21st, 2009 at 2pm with Roberta Flack and Davell Crawford. The series is every Sunday from June21-August 23, 2009 and the shows start at 2pm.
