Oaktoberfest

As I mentioned before festival season is wrapping up, so take advantage of the upcoming festivities while soaking up some rays. I'm here to deliver info on this weekends events so you can prepare for a fun-filled Saturday, Sunday, or why not both days. In the Dimond District of Oakland on Saturday October 10, 2009 from 11AM-PM the Oaktoberfest will be taking place. This festival continues a tradition that began in the early 1900's when Beer Gardens and German vacation resorts lined the boulevard. Get Real!

Visit the Eat Real Festival August 28-30, 2009 in Jack London Square in Oakland. This festival features "street food", some of the Bay's best taco trucks, fresh fruits & veggies, ice cream sold from the back of a bicycle, local handcrafted beers, and sidewalk cinema on Friday and Saturday nights. Entrance to the event is free, the street eats are at the recession friendly prices of between $1-$5, and the price for the beer shed is $20. $20 will get you eight generous tastings and a souvenir glass. Best of the East Bay 2009

Celebrate the East Bay Express best of 2009 winners at the Oakland Museum. There will be something for everyone, fashion, food, film, and much more. Free Concert Series

Stern Grove kicks off its historic concert series this Sunday June 21st, 2009 at 2pm with Roberta Flack and Davell Crawford. The series is every Sunday from June21-August 23, 2009 and the shows start at 2pm.
