Historic Hemlines

The Gap is celebrating a Birthday. The San Francisco based retailer was founded 40 years ago in 1969 by Donald and Doris F. Fisher. The name originated from the popular 1960's phrase "the generation gap" used to describe generational differences between baby boomers and their parents, and also the "gap in the market" they intended to fill. I believe the Gap has lasted throughout the years because they have garnered a reputation for basic looks with superior quality that will stand the test of time. Cheers, to the Gap!
