Black September

For a long time fashion magazines seemed to dub August as the special month to put an African American on the cover: (Beverly Johnson first African American on Vogue August 1974). I guess they moved up to September. I recently blogged on Chanel Iman & other top black models gracing the cover of ID Magazine's September issue. Real fashion misfits recognize that "September" is like the TV industry's May Sweeps. It's a very important issue that gives you a guide to the fall season. Hemlines is taking notice, and encourages magazines to continue to show diversity; with that being said Rihanna is on the cover of this month's Italian Vogue couture issue. I must say Rih Rih gives good face. Ultra haute.
