Haute Displays
One of my favorite holiday pastimes is observing window displays. I'm always amazed by the creativity at the various retailers. Above are a few from the San Francisco Union Square area. Be sure to take a look if you are in the area, and be astonished at the visual merchandising. I'm sure the displays will be up until the New Year. (From top to bottom Tiffany & Co; Louis Vuitton; Levi; Barney's New York)

Never Lost for Words
Add a hint of fun to your accessory collection with these quotable picks from Jessica Kagan Cushman. Bangles with quirky quotes, rings that proclaim "bite me", and cuffs citing "whatever" are just a few of the pieces found in this novel line. One of my favorites would have to be the zodiac cuffs (pictured above) as we approach Capricorn season. The cuffs are zodiac constellations set in crystals, oh so cute. Talley Top
Breaking news! Editor at Large Andre Leon Talley will be a judge on next season's America's Next Top Model. HAUTE DAMN! I might just have to start watching again. I stopped several years ago after Eva the diva won. Maybe he can turn the show around; by keeping it REAL. Talley knows the rules honey and not to mention his costumes are interesting. I'm ultra excited! Maybe he can take over the show:)

Norma Kamali for Walmart
OK, where have I been? How did I let this slip past me? I had no idea Norma Kamali had a line at Walmart, and apparently her clothes have been in the stores since 08'. We all remeber her 80's collection with the humongous shoulder pads. Well, the shoulder pads are no longer, and the current collection offers casual affordable looks. I am no Walmart fan when it comes to their clothes, but I must admit the Kamali line is pretty darn adorable. Shop NK for Walmart

Sonia Rykiel for HandM
With all of the hype surrounding the Jimmy Choo H&M arrival, many of you may be unaware of Sonia Rykiel's current presence at the retailer. The french born designer has accomplished much throughout her career including being voted one of the world's most elegant women. Her collection made its debut on December 5 at H&M, and the lingerie is quite darling. Shop Sonia Rykiel at H&M

Little Haute Dress
Where has the time gone? The holidays are here, which means you may be invited to several festivities as we cruise into 2010. This one is for the ladies; it's time to pull out your Little Haute Dress. The first haute dress is the A-line holiday red flirty dress by J. Crew; that will be ultra fab for that upcoming Christmas party. If holiday red is too cliche for you, try a black cocktail dress with ruffled detailing by Shop Bop. One of my personal favorites to bring in the new year is the one shoulder sequin embellished dress from Forever 21. Look carefully, this haute little number is navy in color which is the new black.

Haute Innovation
Dekkori shoe accessories elevate the ordinary shoe into the hautest footwear. The shoe ornamentation gives the illusion of a boot; they have both ankle and knee lengths to choose from. They can be worn with a pump or a sandal creating an entirely new look. I absolutely love this idea. Shop online at Dekkori

Plaid Friday
Some of your may be gearing up for the infamous "Black Friday", but "Plaid Friday" is an ideal alternative. Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of Bay Area independent businesses; it's designed to create awareness about shopping local, and the importance of supporting the local economy. There are a number of participating businesses that can be found on the Plaid Friday site. Support the movement and wear your plaid on Friday November 27 while you "shop local"

Haute Sequin
Okay the rain is on it's way, but that never stops the club vixen from showing what her momma gave her! I've been noticing a trend with sequin mini skirts coupled with ankle booties-haute. You can find them cheap at Forever 21, just remember to pair with a solid color top of a different texture. Have a haute weekend and check out the entries below for things to do!

Freeze, Sucka!
Black Dynamite will be shown at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland on Saturday November 21. The movie is a replication of the 70's "blacksploitation" films we are so fond of. The movie has big Afros, retro fashions, and a funky soundtrack to match. It's directed by Scott Sanders and stars Michael Jai White and Sally Richardson. For all you jive turkeys, there will only be one showing on Saturday and it starts a midnight. http://blackdynamitemovie.com/
