Historic Hemlines

The Gap is celebrating a Birthday. The San Francisco based retailer was founded 40 years ago in 1969 by Donald and Doris F. Fisher. The name originated from the popular 1960's phrase "the generation gap" used to describe generational differences between baby boomers and their parents, and also the "gap in the market" they intended to fill. I believe the Gap has lasted throughout the years because they have garnered a reputation for basic looks with superior quality that will stand the test of time. Cheers, to the Gap! Back to Basics

The trend of jeans with the heavily adorned pockets is over. You know the ones with the designer's signature stitching, rhinestones, studs, etc. on the back pockets; Garanimals for grown men. Enter a new day of slim cut, classic-preppy pieces at reasonable price points; Life/After/Denim is serving just that on August 1. The line will be available at Planet Blue (SoCal) today, and nationwide in September. http://www.lifeafterdenim.com/
