I recently caught up with Robin Victor, the owner of Renui Day Spa to ask a few questions regarding her business and skin care. Upon entering Renui you take immediate notice of the tranquil atmosphere, and Robin's warm spirit. This holistic lifestyle spa offers a variety of services, and will be hosting Body Drama on Sunday November 29, 2009.

Style Maven: What interested you in becoming an esthetician?
Robin Victor: As a make-up artist when I would apply make-up on someone with problem or irritated skin it would always bother me. We all want to have flawless skin, so I decided to make it my business to work with people to achieve healthy flawless skin.

SM: Even if one may perceive their skin to be “clear”, what are some of the benefits of getting regular facials?
RV: Facials maintain and improve the overall quality of the skin, help reduce premature aging, better circulation, cell regeneration, face massage helps get rid of toxins.

SM: What sets Renui apart from other day spas?
RV: Renui is a Holistic Lifestyle Spa that offers wonderful therapeutic spa treatments, natural nail care, as well as an acne program. We use organic products in many of our treatments and we also offer periodic health & wellness seminars that focus on themes that support living a healthy lifestyle.

SM: What is one simple thing everyone can do to achieve healthier skin?

RV: The skin is the largest organ on the body and performs many functions. Body brushing with a loofah or scrub brush on dry skin, starting at the toes and working your way up (always brushing in the direction of the heart) helps circulation, sloughs of the dead skin and leaves you feeling exhilarated and refreshed.

SM: What is your favorite “haute spot” and why? (This can be a travel destination, restaurant, or a place that brings you peace like church or the beach for example.)
RV: The Bay Area has many getaways and one of my favorites is Carmel. The drive is not bad and to just go and sit on the ocean is very relaxing for me.

Super Smoky

The smoky eye is a look that is going to be around for a while. The heavier black liner combined with the smoky shadows, as seen on J-Lo, add high drama to any evening. Estee Lauder is another company participating in the struggle against Breast Cancer. As I mentioned previously October is Breast Cancer awareness month and many companies have produced products to keep us aware and focused on the fight for a cure.
